Nurture Your Mind for Older Persons (NYMOP) programme aims to educate and promote mental wellbeing to persons aged 50 years and above.

The structured programme comprises interactive talks and experiential workshops designed around 3 themes including relationship building, coping with change, and purpose in life. Participants would learn the skills required to optimise mental wellbeing for healthy ageing.

Module 1 – Building Positive Relationships

This module helps participants understand the changes in relationship dynamics as one ages, learn how to manage these changes, and pick up tips on communicating more effectively to build and maintain positive relationships.

This module consists of:

  1. 1 hour Talk – Spousal relationship
  2. 1 hour Talk – Grandparent/Grandchild(ren) relationship
  3. 1.5 hour Movie Workshop

Module 2 – Coping with Change

This module focuses on the various changes which accompany ageing, identifies the usual responses to changes, and teaches skills on how to cope positively with these changes.

This module consists of:

  1. 1 hour Talk – Changes in ageing
  2. 1.5 hour Music Workshop

Module 3 – Purpose and Meaning in Life

This module invites participants to review their life experiences and teaches skills on how to engage life more fully through self reflection.

This module consists of:

  1. 1 hour Talk – Engagement with life
  2. 1.5 hour Art Workshop
  3. 1.5 hour x 4-12 sessions Life Review Workshop
